By Scott Rogust

While some will downplay the importance of sports, you can't deny the impact it has on individuals' lives. Tommy Smith, a 27-year-old bat boy for the Trenton Thunder, has lived with down syndrome throughout his entire life. Ever since joining the team, he's become a source of support and inspiration. In fact, this Tuesday was dubbed "Tommy Tuesday," in which the Thunder gave fans Tommy Smith bobbleheads. To make his day that much more memorable, the Thunder allowed Smith to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and it was a perfect strike.

Smith is a popular person at Arm & Hammer Park, as fans lined up for his autograph along the foul line. The players in the clubhouse and the organization absolutely love him, as evidenced by the night they honored him with. More importantly, they gifted Tommy Smith with a memory that he'll never forget.
