VIDEO: Benches Clear in Mets-Rockies Game When Drew Gagnon Hits Ian Desmond After Giving up 2 HRs
By Thomas Carannante

The Colorado Rockies are beating the New York Mets, and it wouldn't have been a night without Daniel Murphy hitting a bomb against his former team. Well, after he did that, Mets reliever Drew Gagnon wasn't pleased about giving up two bombs (the other to David Dahl), and a delivered a fastball right to the back of Ian Desmond. The benches and bullpens promptly cleared.

Ohhh boy, that could have escalated quickly but somehow everyone kept their cool. Desmond looked like he was about to beat Gagnon to a pulp but instead just walked down to first. And how about Murphy jumping RIGHT out of the dugout ready to brawl against his former team!
A lot of nothing #mets #rockies. Benches cleared pic.twitter.com/o7rsmeI6An

What could've been a wildly entertaining Friday night ended up being one of the most anti-climactic conclusions to one of the most obvious plunkings out of frustration we've seen.
Leave it to the Mets to somehow botch a potential dugout- and bullpen-clearing brawl.
