VIDEO: Bill Belichick's Social Media Take is Surprisingly Spot on and Probably Why Pats Are So Good

Bill Belichick has not hidden his distaste for social media in the past, and while he may not be well-versed in its intricacies, it's hard to argue with anything he says when it comes to coaching and football. His recent comments on the emptiness of social media make perfect sense, and the way he applies it to his team is truly how most people in general should approach it.
Bill Belichick on social media: “You know, I hate social media. ...It still comes back to fundamental relationships and communication. There’s no cell phones out there on the field. ...Who cares how many likes you get from 2000 people you don’t even know?” pic.twitter.com/BLIJkcFxiz

A new documentary featuring Belichick and Nick Saban features two men who have made themselves into legendary coaches. So when they talk, it's important to listen.
Belichick may sound grumpy to some, but his point rings true. He talks about how meaningless social media likes can be compared to real-life relationships, which are at the heart of any team.

These comments also illustrate how Belichick strives to eliminate distractions and have his teams focus solely on football. Any criticism of his opinion can be shot down by all of his success as a coach.
Notice how the Patriots don't have viral content coming out of the locker room during postgame speeches and typically have limited drama surrounding the team?
