VIDEO: Blazers Completely Blow Game 2 Against Warriors With Devastating Second-Half Choke
By Thomas Carannante
Well, the one chance the Portland Trail Blazers probably had to make this a series just crashed and burned in the blink of an eye. Leading by 15 heading into the half and then by eight with 4:30 left apparently wasn't enough. The Golden State Warriors once again escaped thanks to endless offensive rebounds and poor late-game execution by the Blazers.
Time and time again we ask ourselves how teams manage to let the Warriors back in the game when they look dead to rights, but the Dubs just keep proving why they're the best team in the league. All it takes is for Golden State to turn a few turnovers or missed shots into a couple of threes and it's a whole new game.
How are you supposed to stop this ball movement?
On the final possession for the Blazers, Damian Lillard attempted to tie the game with his team trailing 114-111, but Andre Iguodala had other ideas and proved why the Warriors save him up for the postseason.
The Dubs outscored the Blazers 13-4 in the final four minutes to steal the Game 2 victory and take a much-needed 2-0 lead with the series going to Portland. There's no question this one was choked away.
CJ McCollum was silenced in the second half after dropping 16 in the first, and Lillard was limited to just 6-of-16 shooting on the night. The Warriors reversed their fortune, starting the game 3-of-13 from three-point land to finish 6-of-16 from beyond the arc, and managed to weather the storm of another poor deep shooting performance for Steph.
No KD? No problem.
