VIDEO: Blues Take Early Lead Over Bruins on Goals From Ryan O'Reilly and Alex Pietrangelo
By Scott Rogust
The St. Louis Blues strike first in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final! For a majority of the first period, the Boston Bruins put plenty of pressure on Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington, but were unable to put one in the net. With the Blues finally in Boston territory, Jay Bouwmeester unleashed a wicked slap shot that Ryan O'Reilly redirected past Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask to take the 1-0 lead.
Oh, you thought the Blues were done there?
With less than 10 seconds remaining in the first, an uncontested Alex Pietrangelo unleashed a smooth backhand shot past Rask to extend St. Louis' lead.
Expect the Bruins to come out swinging for the final 40 minutes.
