VIDEO: Bodycam Footage Released of Cardinals' Executive Ron Minegar's DUI Arrest
By Sean Facey
Arizona Cardinals Executive Vice President and COO Ron Minegar put the spotlight on the franchise Sunday when he was arrested in Arizona on suspicion of DUI. Now, the police body camera footage of the arrest has been released, and it certainly doesn't do Minegar or the Cardinals any favors.
In the video, Minegar can be seen struggling to pass field sobriety tests and follow the instructions of the officers on the scene. In fact, he nearly fell over during a horizontal gaze nystagmus test and the officers had to catch him. He also refused to take a breathalyzer test.
Minegar was reportedly swerving in and out of lanes and almost drove onto the sidewalk before being pulled over.
It's certainly not a good look for the organization, but to the credit of the Cardinals, they don't seem to be messing around in terms of handing it.
"We fully recognize the seriousness of these actions and they will have serious consequences," said the Cardinals in a statement following his arrest.
They deserve credit for how they're handling the situation, and it will no doubt be intriguing to see how his future with the team unfolds, especially in wake of this video.
