VIDEO: Braves Score as Ball Bounces off 3rd Base and Tyler Flowers Barely Beats Yoan Moncada Laser
By Scott Rogust
Talk about a strange way to score a run, but Atlanta Braves fans aren't going to complain about it. During Saturday's game against the Chicago White Sox, both teams were knotted in a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the first inning. Atlanta catcher Tyler Flowers hit a grounder to third base on a 1-2 count. Third baseman Yoan Moncada waited for the ball to head his direction. Instead, it bounced directly off the bag and high up into the air, allowing Dansby Swanson to score and Flowers to beat out the throw at first.
It's a play that Moncada would like to have back, as the floodgates opened wide, and the White Sox allowed six runs in the first.
