For all the believers in fate out there, take a look at first-round MLB draft pick Brett Baty. The 12th-overall pick by the New York Mets, Baty had the perfect nickname when he played baseball as a kid.

That's right, when he played tee-ball, Baty played for a team called the Mets, earning him the nickname Brett "The Met" Baty.
Perhaps this is a gesture of goodwill from the baseball gods for the suffering franchise from Flushing.
The name isn't the only thing to get excited about, though. Baty is widely regarded as one of the best offensive talents in the draft. He's got incredible power at the plate, especially for a high school prospect, and it pairs nicely with his above-average ability to make contact.
With the No. 12 overall pick in the 2019 #MLBDraft, the Mets select Brett Baty, a 3B from Lake Travis HS in Austin, Texas.

A third baseman by trade, Baty has all the makings of a quality-hitting player to man the hot corner in the future. His power doesn't always translate, but the tools are there.
If the Mets can sway him away from his commitment to the University of Texas, the pick could turn out to be a match made in baseball heaven.
