VIDEO: Brett Gardner Doubles Yankees' Lead With 2-Run Homer
By Seth Carlson
There's a gardy party in the South Side of Chicago tonight. Batting in the bottom of the fourth with two out and a runner on, Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner turned on a 3-1 pitch and hammered it to deep right field for a two-run homer.
The dinger was Gardner's 11th home run of the season and extended New York's lead to 4-0. For what it's worth, he only had 12 home runs in 530 at-bats all of last season.
