If Brett Gardner continues to hit like this for the New York Yankees, the team will be just fine heading into the postseason without outfielder Mike Tauchman. Gardner launched his second home run of the night against the lowly Detroit Tigers to add to the Yankees already sizable lead.

In just two at-bats thus far, Gardner is single-handedly helping the Yankees to an early lead and a likely win.

New York will need someone to step up as the season comes to a close, and there's no better candidate than Gardner. If he can add some punch to the lineup, the Yankees are in business.
