VIDEO: Brett Gardner Slid Headfirst Into 1st Base Like a Lunatic With the Yankees Up 12-1
By Sean Facey

Brett Gardner doesn't care enough about the score to ever take his foot off the gas. Even with his Yankees up 12-1 against the Rays at home in the seventh inning, the crazed 12-year veteran slid headfirst into first base to beat out an infield grounder like an absolute lunatic.
We'll never understand the urge to replace Brett Gardner. The way this Yankees lineup is, his hustle, grit and whatever speed he has left is invaluable. Up 12-1 with two outs in the seventh, the man dives head first into first. #PinstripePride pic.twitter.com/C42L6TjtmF

Love him or hate him, that's pure hustle and commitment right there. He's probably the only player in the league that would even consider sliding headfirst in that situation, let alone do it.
Brett Gardner is definitely one of a kind.
