VIDEO: Brewers' Mike Moustakas Crushes 3-Run HR With Golf Swing on Adam Wainwright Curveball
By Michael Luciano
It's just been that kind of season -- well, four consecutive seasons -- for St. Louis Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright. Even after unleashing his trademark 12-6 curveball against Brewers slugger Mike Moustakas, the Milwaukee infielder managed to go down low and slap it into the right field stands. Moustakas' 31st home run on the season gave the Brewers a 4-0 lead early against their division rivals.
Moustakas, who has continued his All-Star form since the break, is on pace to break his career high for home runs. In 2017, he hit 38 as a member of the Kansas City Royals.
Wainwright, meanwhile, continues to struggle of late. The 37-year-old veteran, who came into this start with a 4.33 ERA, gave up his 17th home run of the year, which is the second-most he has ever allowed.
This is not the kind of performance Mike Shildt's men needed to turn in against a division rival when they're fighting for a playoff spot.
