VIDEO: Brewers Pitcher Adrian Houser Pukes on Mound Then Dominates for 6 Innings
By Jerry Trotta
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Adrian Houser might have a problem...and no, it doesn't at all pertain to his pitching ability. Many of you will remember the 26-year-old hurler hurling TWICE on the mound last June against the Phillies, causing a brief stoppage of play and a visit from the training medical staff. Well, history, as we know, is an unpredictable mistress and she (somehow) managed to repeat herself Saturday night.
Houser was handed the ball against the Rangers and he proceeded to blow chunks on the mound after committing an error with two outs in the first inning. Once again, he was visited on the mound by teammates and staff.
Shortly thereafter, however, he resumed pitching and managed to spin arguably the most dominant game of his young career. The Locust Grove High School product held Texas to three hits and one walk over six innings while striking out 10 batters. He actually fanned seven Rangers before conceding his first hit...which came in the fifth inning!
You simply cannot make this stuff up.
Most would think that vomiting would hinder one's ability on the mound and ultimately lead to a short, ineffective outing. However, regurgitating seems to work in the favor of Houser.
Who knew?
