VIDEO: Brian Cashman Has Exchange Over Patrick Corbin and Pitching Depth With WFAN's Sweeny Murti

A frustrating ALCS loss to the Houston Astros may have gotten into Yankees general manager Brian Cashman's head, considering the results of his press conference Thursday.

As the Yankees move into the offseason, Cashman conducted a typical season wrapup press conference during which things became a little tense between the GM and reporter Sweeny Murti.

While Murti asked questions of Cashman regarding his team's strategy in pursuing pitching, through the trade market and free agency, the general manager turned the tables by rhetorically asking questions of Murti multiple times regarding the Yankees' offers for Patrick Corbin and to the Pirates for Gerrit Cole, prior to the 2018 season.

Cashman said the Yankees made offers for both pitchers, though the Nationals and Astros, respectively, both made better offers. The general manager also said the Yankees missed out on signing Dallas Keuchel "by the hair of our chinny chin chin," repeatedly maintaining the idea that the team wasn't given a chance to "pass" on pitching help themselves.

Cashman was more composed a little later, also stating a lack of regret in terms of the Yankees' process in trying to acquire the aforementioned pitchers' services.

The Yankees' starting rotation moves toward an uncertain future with the retirement of CC Sabathia, still outclassed by the aces of their rivals.

However, they are once again the targets of frequent free agency rumors. Let's see if the "process" plays out differently this time.
