VIDEO: Brian McCann Extends Braves' Lead Over Cubs With Monster Homer off Wrigley Field Scoreboard
By Michael Luciano

Back in a Braves uniform after five seasons in the AL with the Yankees and Astros, Atlanta catcher Brian McCann continues to look reborn back in the Peach State. McCann came into this matchup against Yu Darvish and the Chicago Cubs hitting .279 with seven home runs in just 42 games. He emphatically blasted his eight home run of the year off of Darvish, taking a fastball in the middle of the plate deep into the Wrigley Field bleachers to give the Braves a 2-0 lead.

Darvish continues to struggle to keep the ball in the park, allowing his 17th home run this season.

The resurgence of McCann, who has survived the original round of cuts and could end up starting in the All-Star Game, has been a pleasure to watch. That is, unless you are Yu Darvish.
