VIDEO: Brock Holt Hits First Dinger of the Season to Give Red Sox the Lead in Baltimore
By Mark Powell
Better late than never for Boston Red Sox utility player Brock Holt. The lefty drilled his first home run of the year for the Sox in Baltimore off righty Luis Ortiz in the bottom of the first inning to give Boston the lead.
Holt does have some pop, but he's been relegated to limited playing time this season, hence the lack of crooked numbers next to his name in the stat sheet. Like most of the Red Sox, he got off to a slow start this season, but a resurgence can be expected. The Sox are still very much alive for a Wild Card spot should they not be able to catch the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays with a second half push.
