VIDEO: Brutal Paul DeJong Error Costs Cardinals 3 Runs as Brandon Crawford Homers in Next At-Bat
By Mark Powell

We're not sure what Paul DeJong was doing here, but he clearly got caught in a brainfart, and we don't use that term lightly. DeJong was gifted a routine ground ball and looked to throw the ball to second base, only Kolten Wong wasn't looking. Instead of taking the easy play at first, DeJong threw the ball at Wong anyway, giving him very little time to react.

Just one batter later, Brandon Crawford delivered a 3-run bomb to give the Giants the lead (at the time), after the Cards should've been out of the inning had it not been for DeJong's misplay.

DeJong did have a home run earlier in the game, but we're confident his WAR should be a push in this one.
