VIDEO: Bryce Harper Rips Home Run Over Green Monster to Give Phillies the Lead Over Red Sox
By Michael Luciano
Maybe Charlie Manuel was the secret ingredient Bryce Harper needed to rediscover his power. The Philadelphia Phillies superstar has been hitting like his old self over the last few weeks, and continued his hot streak against the Boston Red Sox and struggling starter Rick Porcello. Harper slammed one to left field that just scraped over the Green Monster, giving Harper's Phillies a 3-2 lead.
That last swing gave Harper home run No. 27 and RBIs No. 91 and 92 in his first season in Philadelphia.
August has been kind to Harper, who has hit eight home runs and posted a 1.007 OPS so far this month. Harper has responded to Manuel being named Phillies hitting coached, as this is the third home run he has hit in the week since Manuel took the job (and his seventh in the last 14 days).
Now THIS is the kind of player you would spend $330 million on.
