VIDEO: Bud Selig Claims Hank Aaron is MLB's True Home Run King Over Barry Bonds
By Sean Facey

Though he very much enabled the factors that led to his rise, Bud Selig has once again emphasized his disdain for Barry Bonds. While he was on the phone on the Dan Patrick Show prior to Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, the former commissioner of baseball claimed that the true home run king is not the current all-time leader in Barry Bonds, but rather the former record holder Hank Aaron.

He tried to dance around the question that Patrick posed to him initially, but when he was prompted again by the host, Selig folded, agreeing that Aaron is the true home run king.
The two discussed at length how much they believed that Bonds tarnished the reputation of baseball's home run record with steroids and how agonizing it was for Selig to watch him break it during his time as commissioner.
"I was hopscotching around the country to be in attendance when the self-absorbed slugger hit the record homer."

That being said, it doesn't make it any less frustrating. It's just the latest moment in Selig's seemingly endless not-so-silent crusade against Bonds, and it remains difficult to hear his revisionist history in which he did anything to stop such medical advancements from being used.
