A heartwarming moment took place at Busch Stadium on Tuesday night as Hall of Famer Lou Brock was on hand to celebrate his 80th birthday with the hometown crowd.
The crowd kindly all joined together to sing Happy Birthday to the Cardinals legend. Brock was met by the Cardinals mascot with a nice cake as the fans serenaded.
The Hall of Famer played 19 seasons in the MLB starting in 1961 for the Chicago Cubs. He later went on to spend the majority of his career with the Cardinals.
The Cardinals outfielder was one of the best to ever play the game. Throughout his career, Brock recorded 3,023 hits, batted .293, and drove in 900 runs. Lou is also a six-time All-Star and a two time World Series Champion.
Brock was also a speedster on the bases. In 1974, the Cardinals legend broke Maury Wills record of 104 steals in a single season. Brock totaled 118 stolen bases in that year.
Cardinals fans still have a lot of admiration for Brock and it is certainly well deserved.
