VIDEO: Cardinals' Paul DeJong Slugged His 3rd Home Run of Game and the Pirates Are Actually Dead
By Michael Luciano

Can someone poke the Pittsburgh Pirates with a stick to make sure they're alright? After starter Jordan Lyles was getting slammed all around PNC Park, highlighted by a nine-run second inning, St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong continued his career night by blasting his third home run of the game, this one coming off of right fielder-turned-emergency reliever Jose Osuna.
They might never get Paul DeJong out ever again. His THIRD HOMER of the NIGHT! ???

DeJong's 18th home run of the season pushed the Cardinals' lead to 14-6. He's the first shortstop in franchise history to hit three homers in a game too.
If you want to know the state of the Pirates right about, Osuna, a corner outfielder, just finished his second inning of work on the mound. If that doesn't sum up the kind of rut Clint Hurdle's men are in, nothing will.
But hey, at least Osuna is throwing some smoke, touching 93 with a 71 MPH curveball.

If you're a Pirates fan, just about they only thing you can do right about now is laugh at how absurd this game has been.
