VIDEO: Carlos Gomez Gives Us Incredible Pimp Job on Eventual Game-Winning Homer for Mets
By Michael Luciano

The Johan Santana trade keeps paying dividends for the Mets all these years later. Carlos Gomez, who had been scuffling since receiving a call-up from the Mets' Triple-A team in Syracuse, blasted a three-run home run off of Washington Nationals reliever Wander Suero to give the Mets a 6-4 lead in the eighth inning.

Gomez may not be the All-Star he once was in Milwaukee, but he still knows what to do with a 95 MPH fastball right down the middle of the plate.
Gomez and fellow silver-haired veteran Rajai Davis have been pressed into action due to injuries to Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil. With Davis' three-run home run last night and Gomez's blast today, it's safe to say that they're doing alright in their brief cameos.

For as much of a mess as the Mets are, they've been able to string some wins together against a Nationals team that's somehow even more of a grease fire this year.
