VIDEO: Carmelo Anthony Attempts to Posterize Jaxson Hayes But Comes up Short

Carmelo Anthony is making his 2019-20 debut with the Portland Trail Blazers, and he's immediately trying to make an impact with his new team. He was inserted into the starting lineup, and quickly got on the scoreboard with his trademark midrange jump shot. Well, Melo might have gotten a bit ahead of himself in the second quarter, as he tried to throw down a huge poster dunk on Jaxson Hayes. Only, it didn't quite go to plan for the veteran.

Just from the look on his face you can tell Melo was looking to put Hayes in a body bag. But he might just be a bit rusty, as the Pelicans' rookie was able to hang tough and prevent him from throwing down the jam.
Who can knock Melo for trying? We're just happy to see him back on an NBA court.
