VIDEO: CC Sabathia Comments on Final Appearance and Injury Prove He's a True Warrior
By Michael Luciano

Yankees fans have been treated to countless highs in the 11 years that CC Sabathia has called the Bronx home. Unfortunately, what will likely be his final game was one of the lowest lows we've seen. Sabathia exited a deflating Game 4 loss against the Houston Astros with a shoulder injury. Unless he magically heals up and the Yankees win three straight, we've likely seen the last of him. In a press conference ahead of Game 5, CC remarked that there was a bit of poetic justice in his final appearance, as he literally pitched until he physically couldn't anymore.
CC Sabathia on this being the end for him:

Sabathia, who was 5-8 with a 4.95 ERA this year, pitched out of the bullpen for the first time in his career, as the Yankees opted for a rotation of Masahiro Tanaka, James Paxton, and Luis Severino.
If last night was curtains for Sabathia, what a ride it's been. Sabathia currently leads all active pitchers in basically every pitching category, cementing his legacy as one of the most unhittable starters of the last few decades.
CC Sabathia is baseball's active leader in: wins, losses, games started, complete games, innings, hits allowed, earned runs, homers allowed, walks, strikeouts, and batters faced, among other things. Hell of a career, if it just ended. pic.twitter.com/5KRyZc4L2X

If this is truly the end, CC deserves nothing but universal praise and adulation for his career in pinstripes and in baseball as a whole. Expect No. 52 to be retired in a few years in both Cleveland and New York and his trademark smile to be adorning a plaque in Cooperstown sometime in the next decade.
