VIDEO: CC Sabathia Gets Standing Ovation During Mound Visit With Aroldis Chapman at All-Star Game
By Karl Rasmussen
CC Sabathia is in the victory lap of his playing career, having decided to call it quits at the end of the season. He got a special moment at Progressive Field during the All-Star Game, visiting teammate Aroldis Chapman on the mound, to a standing ovation from the crowd, just before Chapman fired the final strikeout of the game.
The Yankees hurler started his career in Cleveland, spending eight years with the Tribe before moving to the Bronx in 2009.
It was an awesome tribute to Sabathia's 19-year big league career, one that's seen the lefty record 251 wins and more than 3,000 strikeouts. He's deserving of the respect of everyone in the game, and the brief intermission to honor Sabathia is something the 38-year-old will never forget.
