VIDEO: Chad Johnson Claims He's Returning to NFL as a Kicker on Instagram

Even after being retired for some time now, Chad Johnson is still finding ways to entertain football fans. The former wide receiver is teasing a return to the NFL, but this time he wants to play a different position that requires much less contact.

I’m going back to the @nfl as a kicker next year, i spoke with Goodell and i will get the opportunity. I’m good from 60 & 70 yards if i had a cleat on my plant foot.

Ochocinco shared a video on Instagram in which he nails a field goal attempt from what seems to be a respectable distance. He even claims that he is capable of hitting a 70-yarder if he had the right equipment.

While with the Bengals, Johnson did in fact drill an extra point during a preseason game.

With all of the kicking issues NFL teams have suffered over the past few seasons, it doesn't seem all that crazy to think that Johnson could at least earn himself a tryout. However, his presence on a team would likely be a bigger distraction than it's worth, even if he does have the ability to consistently make kicks.

That said, if he were to find his way onto an NFL roster, the fake-kick opportunities would be limitless, and we are here for that.
