VIDEO: Chargers Were Somehow Called for 4 Separate Penalties on a Single Play Against Cardinals
By Karl Rasmussen
If there's one thing the NFL preseason is good for, it's ironing out the kinks and getting players back into top shape for the regular season. Mistakes are frequent in the preseason, though not all of them are quite as glaring as what happened to the Chargers' special teams unit.
The Bolts were flagged for four separate violations on the kick, including three different holding calls.
Hats off to the referee, Shawn Hochuli, for remembering precisely what players were guilty of holding, and even noticing the late block on the play as well.
Anthony Lynn can't be pleased with the sloppy play of his special teams unit, though he's likely thankful that this occurred in the preseason rather than in a game with high stakes.
