VIDEO: Charlie Blackmon Destroys a Pitch From Liam Hendriks for 1st Home Run of All-Star Game
By Scott Rogust
For the better part of the MLB All-Star Game, the National League was held scoreless against the American League. That all changed in the top of the sixth inning. Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon sent a pitch from Oakland Athletics reliever Liam Hendriks deep to center field to cut the AL's lead to 2-1.
There was a lack of dingers the night after the Home Run Derby, but Chuck Nazty changed all of that.
Blackmon had been 0-for-8 in his previous All-Star at bats, so it's good to see the Rockies star finally get on the board, both personally and for the NL.
