VIDEO: Chiefs' Frank Clark Calls Out 49ers' DE Dee Ford for Lining up Offsides in Last Year's AFC Championship
By Jerry Trotta
Super Bowl Opening Night came and went without much animosity or passive-aggressive digs, but that narrative turned on its head on Tuesday. Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was asked for his thoughts on Dee Ford's regrettable offsides penalty inside the final minute of the fourth quarter of last year's AFC Championship Game, an infraction that probably ended up costing KC a trip to the Super Bowl. Clark, as most NFL players likely are, is ever-conscious of the blunder, and didn't hold back in roasting the San Francisco 49ers' pass rusher.
Up until Clark's antics, players on the 49ers and Chiefs have refrained from giving the opposing team any bulletin-board material, but the Michigan product isn't here to conform to the norm. And considering Clark and Ford were never teammates, he probably doesn't feel too bad about lambasting the linebacker.
Prior to KC's clash against the Titans in the AFC Championship, Clark called out Derrick Henry, who had compiled 377 yards on the ground in the previous two rounds, claiming the RB wasn't hard to tackle.
Kansas City responded by holding Henry in check, and we'll be paying close attention if they're able to do the same with Ford, who is surely aware of Clark's criticism by now.
