With one play in the season opener against the Jacksonvile Jaguars, the collective blood pressure of everyone in the Missouri just shot right up. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and 2018 NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes needed to be helped off of the field, and was favoring his leg following a scramble near the goal line.

Mahomes was sandwiched in between two Jaguars defensive lineman, which prompted some scuffling on the field in the aftermath.

Luckily for Andy Reid and company, Mahomes was able to trot back out onto the field.
Kansas City's backup quarterback is Matt Moore, a career journeyman who hasn't seen extended NFL action since he was with the Miami Dolphins in 2016. It goes without saying that is as massive a downgrade as there is in the league between starter and backup.
