VIDEO: Chiefs Surge Into Lead After Mecole Hardman Deep Ball Score and Travis Kelce Wildcat TD
By Mark Powell

Patrick Mahomes has been under pressure early and often against the New England Patriots stout defense. Yet, in a moment of brilliance, the young QB rolled just a bit to his left and threw off his back foot, delivering a deep strike to Mecole Hardman for a touchdown. Suddenly, the Pats secondary looks as vulnerable as ever, and it's all thanks to the insane skill set of one Mahomes.

That's some shoddy tackling by the Pats secondary, as Hardman caught that ball with about 30 yards to go from paydirt. Rather than settling for a modest gain, the Georgia product emulated the man many thought he was drafted to replace in Tyreek Hill, streaking for a touchdown and making Pats defenders miss in the process.
Shortly thereafter, the Chiefs defense picked off a lame duck from Tom Brady.

In prime position to extend their lead, Andy Reid went to his bag of tricks near the goal line. Facing a 3rd and Goal, Reid called a direct snap to Travis Kelce, and he barreled into the end zone.

Oh yes, it was real and it was brilliant. Leave it to Reid to one-up the Patriots' earlier trick play, a flea flicker for a long Julian Edelman TD.
