VIDEO: Chipper Jones and ESPN's Boog Sciambi Share Hilarious Story About Botched Hitting Advice

Back when Jon “Boog” Sciambi was working as a play-by-play man for the Atlanta Braves, he had a suggestion for slumping Hall of Famer Chipper Jones: stop swinging at the first pitch, because most of them aren't strikes. The commentator relayed that message to Jones before a game against the Padres in 2009 and, of course, Chipper proceeded to take a first pitch strike in his first at bat. Following the pitch, however, Jones looked up into the broadcast booth and gave Sciambi a death stare of epic proportions. The long-time Brave joined Boog in the ESPN booth on Wednesday night and the two recalled the hysterical footage. Check it out:

Just hilarious. We can only imagine what Sciambi was thinking when the former MVP was grilling him from home plate.

The eight-time All-Star even said there were a few curse words rumbling around his brain after he took the pitch -- a fastball on the outer half of the strike zone.

The clip concluded with Chipper (hysterically laughing) uttering, "That was absolutely beautiful right there."
