VIDEO: Christian Vazquez Completes Red Sox Comeback Over Blue Jays With 10th Inning Walkoff Homer
By Mark Powell
The Boston Red Sox were down 4-0 to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night, at one point. Yet, one of these teams is the reigning World Series champions. We'll let you guess how it finished.
The Red Sox would come back to tie the game in the later innings, and win it off the bat of Vazquez.
It was Vazquez who declared after a win over the lowly Baltimore Orioles that the Red Sox were officially back, much to the laughter of their division rivals, the Rays and Yankees. At the time, both teams still held a fairly substantial advantage over Boston.
Currently, New York holds a seven-game lead with just a few days before the two teams meet in London. Suddenly, the Sox find themselves in prime position to at the very least compete for a Wild Card spot. Reminder: it's only June.
