VIDEO: Christian Yelich Crushes League-Leading 23rd Home Run
By Parker White
The Milwaukee Brewers have been embarrassed in this three-game series against the Miami Marlins, and as they try to avoid a sweep, reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich took matters into his own hands and got them on the board with a two-run blast in the first.
Marlins southpaw Caleb Smith tried to get a first pitch fastball past Yelich, but he wasn't fooled and went deep for the 23rd time this season, the most in baseball.
It's already June 6 and the Brewers star showed no signs of slowing down. For reference, it took him 115 games to smack 23 homers in 2018. He's achieved the feat in just 56 outings this season. Do we have another back-to-back MVP on our hands? Maybe so if he keeps finding the seats at this rate, but he'll have to fend off Cody Bellinger for the coveted honors.
