The reigning NL MVP sure has been putting together a spirited title defense this season, huh? In the top of the first inning today at Wrigley Field, the Brewers superstar stepped up to the dish with 36 home runs. Facing a 3-2 count, he made it 37-- and took over the league lead in home runs in the process.
The 27-year-old has been rampant in 2019, already surpassing his homer total from a season ago. In addition to all the dingers, he leads the MLB in slugging, OPS, and total bases, and while he's facing a massive challenge in the MVP race from Cody Bellinger, that shouldn't take a single thing away from the run of brilliance he's been showcasing since relocating from Miami.
