VIDEO: Citadel Upsets Georgia Tech in Overtime Thriller
By Ryan Giglio
The final two minutes of Saturday's Citadel-Georgia Tech game saw a back-and-forth battle, with Citadel taking the lead, and then Georgia Tech soon tying the score, with nary a pass thrown between the two squads. Firmly on upset alert, this one somehow snuck to OT with Tech having all the momentum...which they would soon squander.
Eventually in overtime, Citadel kicker Jacob Godek nailed a 37-yard attempt to give his team the thrilling victory.
Running back Dante Smith was a beast on Sunday, rushing for 43 yards and a touchdown on just six carries.
This was Citadel's first win of the season, while Georgia Tech fell to 1-2. 14 total passes -- TOTAL PASSES -- were thrown between the two gadget-heavy squads.
