VIDEO: Clip of Royals Announcer Confusing Jorge Lopez and Josh Staumont for Over a Minute is Wild
By Sean Facey

Confusing names is an easy thing to do when it comes to picking out baseball players on the field. But just as it's easy to make mistakes, it's just as easy to correct them...at least, that's what you'd think. That wasn't the case for Royals announcer Steve Physioc, who somehow managed to confuse two relief pitchers for over a minute.
That this man has now kept his job with the Royals for eight seasons might literally be the most inexplicable thing about the entire franchise. https://t.co/AV3Xy0EjoY

It took Physioc about a minute and 15 seconds -- two outs into the inning -- to realize that it was Jorge Lopez and not rookie Josh Staumont out on the mound. He even congratulated the rookie Staumont, who had yet to make his major league debut, on recording his first out while he was still sitting in the bullpen.
This isn't the first time Physioc has made an egregious error. He once astoundingly managed to mix up where Ted Williams spent his career.
Classic Physioc. Turn it up. pic.twitter.com/u20iUp5f2j

Ah, yes. Ted Williams, known best for his zero years spent with the San Diego Padres, who literally didn't even exist until almost a decade after he retired.
Maybe it's time for the Royals to start considering some changes in the broadcast booth.
