VIDEO: Colin Cowherd Claims LeBron James Influences Kevin Durant's NBA Decision-Making
LeBron James has a lot of influence in the NBA among fellow players, coaches and even GMs and team owners. Ever since he shook up the league by joining the Heat, the NBA has never been the same. And his pull may just extend to fellow superstars. In what seems like a wild accusation at first, Colin Cowherd explains how KD's latest move to Brooklyn is just the newest piece in a career full of LeBron-esque moves.
KD's career moves are eerily similar to that of The King, especially after this offseason in which Durant pledged his future to Brooklyn.
Still don't believe it? Let's take a trip down memory lane and compare the two.
LeBron holds a press conference (the infamous press conference) to announce his departure from Cleveland in 2010 to join other stars in Miami where he will go on to win two championships and two MVP awards. KD holds a press conference to announce he will be leaving OKC to join the stars of Golden State, where he will also go on to win two titles and two MVPs. Both became villains within the league.
After a stint of winning, both superstars were defeated by Kawhi Leonard in their pursuit of their third title. After finally winning a title in Cleveland with a declining team, LeBron decided to take his talents to LA. KD skips the move back home part, but decides to leave the Warriors for the Nets.
The imitations even seem to take hold off of the court in some of KD's business decisions and branding endeavors.
Of course it's easy to make a case that this all happened by chance, or that this is just a stretch used to try and figure out KD's mindset. But his reputation as a sort of lost player who is looking to find himself allows two and two to be put together.
This begs the question: What will LeBron do next, and will KD follow?
