VIDEO: Cowboys Pass Rusher Leighton Vander Esch Taken to Locker Room With Neck Injury
By Scott Rogust
The Dallas Cowboys are rolling over the Philadelphia Eagles, but clouding their impressive start is an injury to a key defensive player. During the second quarter of Sunday night's game, second-year linebacker Leighton Vander Esch was shown laying on the turf with Cowboys medical staff surrounding him. Replay video by NBC Sports showed that Vander Esch suffered a neck injury when attempting to tackle Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert.
As you can see, Vander Esch's head jarred backwards when colliding with the hip of Goedert.
Vander Esch retreated to the locker room with training staff, where it was announced by sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya that he is officially questionable to return with a neck injury.
We will continue to keep you updated on Leighton Vander Esch's status for Sunday night once it's made available.
