VIDEO: Cubs' Javier Baez Crushes Go-Ahead Opposite Field Homer
By Parker White
You hang it, Javier Baez will bang it into the seats. With Friday's game tied at four, the Chicago Cubs All-Star shortstop received a 1-0 hanging breaking ball on the outside part of the plate, and he went out and smoked it into the right field bleachers to give his team a lead.
Yup, Anthony Rizzo isn't the only one on this team with opposite field power, which he displayed earlier in the game.
Was that even a strike? The pitches Baez swings at and does damage with are pretty impressive. That bad boy was no wall scrapper, as he smashed it over 400 feet with an exit velocity of 107 mph.
Especially at Wrigley Field, I don't know how you pitch to this guy. Baez is an amazing bad ball hitter, and at his home park, he will make you pay to all fields. He doesn't discriminate.
