VIDEO: Cubs' Nicholas Castellanos Drops Funny Mind-Bending Quote on Why Every Day is Opening Day
By Mark Powell

Nicholas Castellanos has been a savior for the Chicago Cubs since being acquired for pennies on the dollar from the Detroit Tigers. The 27-year-old loves being a Cub and playing meaningful baseball games yet again, which explains his mentality towards late-August contests: every day is Opening Day.
Nicholas "Galaxy Brain" Castellanos has some ... ~thoughts~ ... on why everyday is Opening Day.

"If what has happened is a memory and what's going to happen is a thought, you're taking yourself out of right now. So in that case, every day is Opening Day," Castellanos said prior to Wednesday's game against the Giants.
OK!
Whatever podcast Castellanos listens to, the Cubs ought to subscribe to his level of thinking. While we wouldn't quite put this in the Kyrie Irving stratosphere, Castellanos seems to have peace of mind.

Castellanos is a free agent after this season, but given his success in placing Chicago right where they need to be in the playoff race (and the fact he's doing so without much help), there will be plenty of talk around the North Side of bringing him back long-term.
