VIDEO: Nico Hoerner's First MLB Home Run Caps Off Monster Inning of Dingers for Cubs

A lot more of the same happened in the top of the first inning for the Chicago Cubs. Veteran starter Jon Lester continued to struggle, allowing four runs to the Pirates, and it just seemed another mind-numbing loss was going to take place in Chi-Town. But then Nick Castellanos came to the plate in the bottom of the inning and did what he's done since donning the Cubs uniform: hit bombs.
That is Castellanos' 26th home run of the season, 15 of which have come in just 40 games with the Cubs. But hey, the Cubbies weren't done going deep.
Catcher Willson Contreras hasn't been great at the plate since coming off the IL, but this could be the start of a much-needed hot streak, as he destroyed a 3-1 breaking ball and deposited it into the left-field bleachers.
The celebration continued, as the Cubs were down just one run with top prospect Nico Hoerner coming to the dish in his first at-bat at Wrigley. Of course, the kid went deep for his first career homer, giving the Cubs a 5-4 lead.
I think the Cubs might have another star position player on their hands.
