VIDEO: D'Angelo Russell Went After Ref Following Tough Bucket and Got Ejected
By Jerry Trotta
D'Angelo Russell has introduced himself to the Bay Area pretty swimmingly through two games, averaging 20 points and eight assists thus far, even though his Golden State Warriors sit at 0-2. Where he won't win over any fans, however, is with the petulant antics he displayed on Sunday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The All-Star point guard was beside himself that a foul wasn't called after he got bumped while converting a tough floater in the paint. Russell subsequently got in the face of the baseline ref who justifiably responded by ejecting him from the contest.
This is simply inexcusable from the Ohio State product. Players in the NBA complain about fouls all the time, but confronting and bumping a ref will always lead to an ejection. He should know better than to let his emotions take over.
