VIDEO: Dad Catches Pablo Sandoval's Go-Ahead Home Run With Sleeping Baby Still in Arms
By Ryan Giglio
Length of game and pace of play are two issues that MLB is facing to make games more entertaining. Some think the game is just fine and shouldn't be messed with, while others believe they drone on endlessly. This father and baby duo may symbolize both sides of the fight on Pablo Sandoval's game-winning 11th inning home run against the Padres Friday night; one experienced abject joy, and the other wasn't awake to soak it all in.
So many aspects of this play are incredible: the fan catching the home run ball one-handed, the fact that the catch occurred while holding his baby, and the baby not waking up with all the noise and commotion around it. As amazing as this catch was, it's appropriate that it came from a Giants fan. The team is now two games over .500 and 2.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.
Apparently, Even Year Magic puts the kids to sleep these days, though.
