VIDEO: Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Wife Survived Elizabethton Plane Crash and the Footage is Terrifying

The racing world held its collective breath on Thursday afternoon for one of the true legends of NASCAR, yet thankfully, there are no severe injuries to report. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy were two of the confirmed passengers on a plane that crashed in northeastern Tennessee. Earnhardt and his wife have reportedly survived the crash. Both were taken to a hospital, and are apparently no longer in danger. The footage, however, is horrifying.

Earnhardt was aboard a Cessna Citation owned by a company based in Mooresville, North Carolina. The plane veered off of a runway at around 3:40 p.m.

Someone on the scene was even able to capture footage of paramedics treating Earnhardt Jr., adding more legitimacy to the danger on the scene.

Earnhardt Jr., the son of one of the greatest and most iconic racers who ever lived in Dale Earnhardt Sr., won 24 Xfinity Series races and 26 Monster Energy Series races in a storied 22-year career. He recently retired, and has been working for several different networks as an analyst.

The NASCAR world can breathe a massive sigh of relief, as Dale Jr. and his wife are both OK after their brush with tragedy.
