VIDEO: David Pastrnak Makes Costly Mistake and Blues Capitalize With 2nd Goal of the Night
By Adam Godfrey
The St. Louis Blues struck first in the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals, when Brayden Schenn finished off a pass from Jaden Schwartz seven minutes into the first period of Game 1. To add to their lead, they got a bit of assistance from the Bruins as David Pastrnak turned the puck over behind the net, which was recovered by Schenn. He then found Vladimir Tarasenko in the slot who made no mistake.
The Blues took a 2-0 lead early in the second period before the Bruins answered with a goal by Connor Clifton 1:16 later to cut the lead in half, but this was a costly mistake for Boston as their second period goal would have been an equalizer if not for the error.
