VIDEO: Derek Wolfe Fuels Raiders-Broncos Rivalry With Latest Shot at Oakland
By Jerry Trotta
It may not have the mouth-watering appeal as some of the other contests of the NFL's season-opening weekend, but believe us when we say that you should tune in to the AFC West showdown between the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football. It goes without saying that these two organizations aren't fond of one another, and why would they be after years of slugging it out on the gridiron? Well, in case you need a refresher course on the sour rivalry, Broncos defensive end Derek Wolfe went out of his way to take a brazen dig at the Raiders while fielding questions from reporters after Wednesday's practice.
"It's just the Raiders, man," said the Cincinnati product. "It's just dirty, grimy Raiders. I don't like them. We want to beat them. You want to play well against them. No matter what the record is we always have a good game against each other."
If you didn't immediately circle your calendars for Monday night (10:20 p.m. ET on ESPN) upon watching that brash clip, you can't call yourself a true football fan.
As for the Denver devotees, well, they are soaking up every second of Wolfe's flagrant troll job.
It's really only a matter of time until Jon Gruden and the Raiders come across the footage and the locker room erupts in sheer rage and fury.
If you didn't already know, football...is...BACK!
