VIDEO: Devastated Stephen A. Smith Emotionally Laments Epic Knicks Free Agent Disaster
By Brendan Azoff
Stephen A. Smith is currently speaking for every New York Knicks fan right now. After what has become a truly incredible Knicks free agent debacle Sunday -- they struck out on both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving -- Smith took to Twitter for an emotional rant that touched on not only the pain and suffering of Knicks fans, but the completely inept organization that has created all this mess.
The Knicks continue to sell out and continue to have a die-hard fanbase that supports them through the dysfunction, yet somehow they could not use any of their cap space to sign one of the big name free agents.
The lamentation extended to the live airwaves as well.
Stephen A.'s rant captures the shock and devastation that the Knicks fan base is going through right now. Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie, Kemba Walker, Jimmy Butler and Klay Thompson were all free agents, yet the Knicks' big splash was signing Julius Randle?
Please.
The Knicks have not one a championship since 1973, and as Stephen A. and the rest of Knick Nation will tell you that they probably will not win again until 2073.
