VIDEO: Dexter Fowler Makes Insane Game-Clinching Catch in Foul Territory to Beat Phillies
By Karl Rasmussen
The St. Louis Cardinals wrapped up their win over the Phillies in style on Thursday, as Dexter Fowler took matters into his own hands. With two outs in the ninth inning, Andrew McCutchen hit a ball into foul territory that looked destined for the seats. Well, Fowler wanted to pack up a little early it seems, as he leapt into the stands and made a sensational snag right next to a pair of Phillies fans.
Fowler may not even have had a chance to make the play if one of the eager fans hadn't completely whiffed on his catch. The ball came down right behind the outstretched arms of the Phils fan, and directly into Fowler's glove who had been pursuing the play.
That's an awesome way to cap off a 5-3 win for your team, and he got to do it right in the face of some opposing fans, making the catch even more sweet.
