VIDEO: Diamondbacks Have Run Taken Away After Umpire Calls Interference on Himself

They say that honesty is always the best policy, but the Arizona Diamondbacks probably wished that that wasn't true for this play. Home plate umpire Nic Lentz called back a run that scored on a wild pick-off attempt down to first, citing that he interfered with Baltimore Orioles catcher Pedro Severino's throw.

Kudos to Lentz for being quick to call the play dead. The replay clearly shows that Lentz's mask made contact with Severino's arm on the throw.

The Diamondbacks got the last laugh, though. The run ended up coming around to score in the inning and pulled away with a 5-2 victory on Tuesday night.
